The Rwandan lockdown

We have been communicating with our friends in Rwanda and life is becoming difficult there, particularly for the poor. A delivery service has been set up which takes orders for groceries and delivers them to people's homes but not everybody has access to this. There is no welfare system in Rwanda and those who have lost what little income they had are starting to go hungry.

As in many countries, people are confined to their homes and need permission in order to go move about. Given that many homes are little bigger than a family tent, this will bring its own pressures.

Mission Rwanda has been providing food for families that are going hungry and will continue doing this as long as we are able.
