The focus of all Mission Rwanda's work is the relief of poverty. In addition to the specific projects we run which provide meals, send children to school and help women into business, we address poverty as we find it.
The concern which has been most pressing throughout 2020 has been the spread of Covid-19. While Rwanda, has not suffered the fatality rates seen in Europe and the US, this has been achieved by closing down rural economies and preventing already poor families from finding work. During the pandemic, the charity has provided food distributions to groups of families.
Occasionally disaster will strike and a family will be left in desperation. Floods have damaged houses and we have been able to help with repairs and other provisions.
