Porridge begins at Rugende
This morning was an early 4am start to visit our new porridge project at Rugende. It is still dark and the roads were quiet as we headed east out of Kigali.
Today we are in Rugende on the eastern outskirts of Kigali to investigate what might be the location for our next project.
No. 10 has hardly been out of the news lately as the saga that is Brexit is reported daily across the front pages.
Today we took a bone-jarring bus ride to Rutonde along the Nyaburongo river which flows towards Kigali from the Virunga mountains in the north west of Rwanda.
Once again the ladies of Loanhead have been knitting away to produce dozens of sets of baby clothes for Rwanda.
In the west it is generally assumed that a child will start school at age five or thereabouts and continue until at least sixteen.
