As ever, the good ladies of Loanhead and surrounds have been busy knitting fish and chip jumpers for children in Rwanda. We now even have contributions coming from North Berwick. The batch has been delivered to Pastor Francis at Embrace Rwanda in their office at the Anglican headquarters in Kigali.
We met Pastor Francis and two women working on the Embrace project, Ruth from Cyanguga Diocese in the south west of Rwanda and Angelique from Byumba Diocese in the north east. Each were very happy to take away a bag of jumpers. Embrace support women and their children and are planning to expand their project into the Easter Province of Rwanda at Kabuga.
The baby jumpers were delivered in better condition than the courier. This is the middle of the rainy season and the rainfall appears to be heavier than usual at this time of year. We were caught in a heavy downpour on the way to Pastor Francis and were soaked through. At least the rain is warm and in 20c or so soon dries off.
