I am back in Rwanda staying at Scripture Union guest house. This time, Mary from Loanhead Parish Church has accompanied me. We are getting an update on existing projects and exploring how Loanhead can help the people of Rwanda.
On Thursday I visited Nyamirambo where Mission Rwanda have been paying the school fees for eleven children and putting a couple of other boys who have left school through vocational training. Our helper Steven had registered the primary children earlier in the week and paid their school fees. We were going to do the same for Elia who, having completed primary 6, had been waiting for the results of the national exams to find out at which senior school he had been allocated a place. We are very pleased that he has done reasonably well and will be attending a school close to his home for the next six years. He is hoping next year he will be able to board. If his results had not been so good then he would have gone on to do another three years of basic education.
We also met Musa who was leaving on Saturday for his boarding school in the north of the country. He was awarded a government assisted place there last year and we hope to visit him before we leave.
