The usual view from my office window is the back green to the rear of the Protestant Council building where a washing line displays anything from the guard's trousers to the table cloths from the restaurant next door.
Being at the rear of the property there isn't much that passes, so when a long tail cruised past the window the other day I guessed it probably wasn't someone stealing the washing. I looked out and saw a not insubstantial monkey sitting on the ground pulling up handfuls of grass. This was one of the langur monkeys that they have been using at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi to scare away the smaller, and more troublesome common monkeys.
I doubt this one had come all the way from India and it seemed perfectly at home in the middle of Kigali. Perhaps it had it's eye on the guard's trousers.
