Recently, funds were provided to buy sewing machines for a group of women. We had done this before and had seen how this could transform lives.
A large part of the work done by Mission Rwanda revolves around sending children to school.
As Covid-19 has swept around the planet, Africa for the most part appears so far to have escaped the worst of the pandemic.

Mission Rwanda is a Scottish charity with a mission to help people in poverty. Our focus is on children and enabling their families to support themselves
The charity is staffed by volunteers and 100% of our funding goes to help the people in Rwanda we support.
We send children to school, we feed malnourished children and help their families to generate regular income. We also help women set themselves up in business to be able to feed their families.
All our work is through churches in Rwanda and other Christian organisations.
The focus of all Mission Rwanda's work is the relief of poverty. In addition to the specific projects we run which provide meals, send children to school and help women into business, we address poverty as we find it.
The over-arching goal of Mission Rwanda is to relieve poverty. We aim to move people from hunger and vulnerability to being able to provide for themselves. If this was easy the problem would have been solved a long time ago.
Nyamirambo is an expanding district on the southern perimeter of Kigali city. The area boasts a fine mosque and a football stadium. Less famously, Nyamirambo is known as being one of the rougher areas of the city.
Rutonde district is the Presbyterian Church Parish of Pastor Zacharie Mboyi. The Parish is 10 kilometers from Kigali and a fifty minute journey by vehicle. Poverty among local families is easy to see.
